We have been at this location since 1978. We have enjoyed our location greatly, even though we have had to deal with break ins, theft, and homelessness. We feel that the rezoning of 1454 N Clark poses a real threat to our business and our way of life for the following reasons 1: The property is simply not big enough to hold a recycling business. What happens when the business outgrows the spot?! 2: The roads are not wide enough to get the type of vehicular traffic though without blocking roads. What happens when our customers and vendors cannot navigate their way through? 3: Increased crime and homelessness is our primary concern. We are all aware of the type of crime and homelessness that follows recycling businesses. T lie businesses around here are already targets for metal thieves. To make matters worse, the railroads field to our immediate South is a constant magnet for homelessness and waste disposal. Certainly, it will only get worse if these vagrants have a place to turn their stuff into money so close to their homeless camp. Please help us keep this business from going in!
