Actions pertaining to the Universally Accessible Park (Council District 1) — Public
Works Department
1. Adopt finding of Mitigated Negative Declaration, pursuant to the provisions of
Section 15164 of California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines
2. Award a construction contract to Lewis C. Nelson and Sons, Inc., of Selma,
California in the amount of $7,819,000 for the Universally Accessible Park, Bid
File — 3312
3. * RESOLUTION -41St amendment to the Annual Appropriation Resolution (AAR) No.
2013-98 appropriating $748,800 for the construction of the Universally Accessible
Park (Requires 5 affirmative votes)

Please forward my message below to all Fresno City Council Members. Thank You.
Dear Fresno City Council Members,
I am the President and CEO for Easter Seals Central California. I am writing to express my unequivocal
support for Inspiration Park, also known as the Universally Accessible Park(UAP). Such a place
perfectly embodies the mission of Easter Seals Central California to provide "innovative services for
children and adults with disabilities and their families so they may actively participate in the
community with the freedom to choose how they live, learn, work and play." It also offers a chance
to bring together all members of the Fresno community.
The establishment of Inspiration Park in Fresno echoes what is happening across my 10-county
service area in Central California. Tatum's Garden brought the community of Salinas together to
create a one-of-a-kind,shoulder-to-shoulder play experience to the children of Monterey County and
their families, regardless of ability." Families in Santa Cruz have just begun the steps to create a
similar park in that community. As with these other parks, Easter Seals Central California offers
whatever support we can to make this happen.
I know that Resources for Independence Central Valley and the city of Fresno have worked for many
years to make this park a reality. Inspiration Park will be the first of its kind in Central California as it
will be a fully accessible park for people of all ages and abilities,
I urcle you to vote in avor of movie onward with the creation of Inspiration Pork!
