ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER TO MAKE APPLICATION TO
THE CALIFORNIA ENERGY COMMISSION FOR A
STREETLIGHT CONVERSION LOAN

WHEREAS, effective July, 1982 1 the c~alifornia Energy
Commission was authorized to loan $1 .. 885 11u.llioin in Stat.e funds to
local governments for ene:tgjr efficient stc,eetlight conver::;_ions; and
WHEREAS,. the City of Fresno desires tP apply to the California
Energy Commission for a loan n()t to exceed ii350 ,.ooo for its
streetlight conversion project ...
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED by the ··council of the City of
Fresno that the Chief ~dministrative Officer is hereby authorized
to apply to the California Energy Con:unissioh for a loan not to
exceed $350,000 for its streetlight converslon project pursuant to
the Energy Conservation Act of 1979,.

A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CIT¥ OF
FRESNO, CALIFORNIA, ENCOUR..11.,.G[NG THE
DEVELOPMENT OF LOW AND MODERj~TE INCOME
HOUSING.
Development:
WHEREAS, the City of Fresno often· attaches c1::>ndi tions to
district amendments that assure land u~ie appropriate to a
specific parcel and compatible with adjtacent properties; and
WHEREAS, the Council,. from time to:1 time, inoreases the
allowable number of units on a particul~r site upon the
condition that the site be developed wit.h low and moderQte
income housing; and
WHEREAS, the objective of the Courn~il in providing such
density increases is to encourage the <l(~velopment of affordal:;)le
housing in the City of Fresno; and
WHEREAS, such density increases ha~re, on occasion, been
restricted to projects receiving state cir federal low or
moderate income financing; and
WHEREAS, the Council desires to encourage the development
of low and moderate income housing in the City of Fresno without

restriction as to the source of financina therefor.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Fresno as follows:
1.. Development of low and moderatt~ income housing is
encouraged.
2. Whenever zoning density is conditioned rr1,pon the
provision of low and moderate income hou~iing ,\for ~~ partioulaJ:
development, such density conditions shaJ~l not be interpreted tro
limit the nature or source of permanent itinancing for the
project, and specifically shall not restl!;ict the developer to
projects which are approved and financed by fed(~JC.a~l or state
governments, unless state or federal law or the local ordinance
affecting such zoning mandates such a limitation.
