RESOLUTION NO. 82-31
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF FRESNO,CALIFORNIA,NAMING THE
PARKSITE ON THE CORNER OF CEDAR AND
SIERRA AVENUES EAST ROTARY PARK.
WHEREAS, Section 2-3401 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Fresno establishes that the City Council shall have the power to
name or rename parks facilities; and,
WHEREAS, the parksite located on the corner of Cedar and
Sierra Avenues has not been named by the City Council; and,
WHEREAS, the East Fresno Rotary Club will purchase and
install tot lot equipment, barbeques, and picnic tables on the
parksite; and,
WHEREAS, the East Fresno Rotary Club has requested that
the park be named East Rotary Park; and,
WHEREAS, the Council in some cases has named a park in
honor Of contributions by an organization; and,
WHEREAS, the request to name the park on the corner of
Cedar and Sierra Avenues East Rotary Park is in conformance with
established procedure.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the
City of Fresno hereby names the park on the corner of Cedar and
Sierra Avenues East Rotary Park,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council extends its
appreciation to the East Fresno Rotary Club for its community
service efforts in furthering park development and recreational
opportunities for the citizens of Fresno.
