RESOLUTION NO. 82-11
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FRESNO FINDING THAT THE USE OF TAXES ALLOCATED
TO THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY PURSUANT TO SECTION
33670 OF CALIFORNIA HEALTH AND SAFETY CODE
WILL BE OF BENEFIT TO THE CONVENTION CENTER
REDEVELOPMENT PLAN PROJECT AREA.
WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency, pursuant to Agency
Resolution No. 1151, authorized the preparation of a Redevelop-
ment Plan ("project") for the Convention Center Area ("project
area"); and
WHEREAS, no less than 20 percent of all taxes allocated
to the Redevelopment Agency pursuant to California Health and
Safety Code Section 33670 ("funds") shall be used by the
Agency for the purposes of increasing and improving the
community's supply of low and moderate income housing available
at affordable housing cost; and
WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency desires to use the funds
outside the project area; and
WHEREAS, the Agency may only use these funds outside
the project area upon a resolution of the Agency and the
legislative body of the City that such use will be of benefit to
the project.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Fresno hereby
finds that the use of not less than 20 percent of the taxes
allocated to the Agency pursuant to Health and Safety Code
Section 33670 for the purpose of increasing and improving
the community's supply of low and moderate income housing
available at affordable housing cost outside the project area
will be of benefit to the Convention Center Redevelopment Plan.
