RESOLUTION NO. � 443
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF FRESNO, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE
TRAFFIC ENGINEER TO PROMULGATE RULES AND
REGULATIONS ESTABLISHING A COURTESY PARKING
TIME EXTENSION PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, in 1972, the Council of the City of Fresno,, by
Minute Resolution, established an experimental ninety -day
Courtesy Time Extension Parking Program in Business Improve-
ment Area No. 1,. a map of whichis attached hereto as Exhibit
"A", whereby owners of vehicles over -parked ' in metered areas
within said improvement Area were served a notice of courtesy
time extension prior to the issuance of a parking citation; and
WHEREAS, the Councilfinds and declares that the experi-
mental regulations proved satisfactory; and
WHEREAS, the Traffic Engineer may exercise reasonable
prosecutional discretion in enforcing the parking laws of
the City pursuant to Section 10--312 of the Fresno Municipal
Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
City of Fresno, California, that the Traffic Engineer is
authorized to promulgate rules and regulations establishing a
Courtesy Parking Time Extension Program in Business Improvement
Area No. 1 and each other area as i:hay be designated by the
Council from time to time
