A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRESNI
DESIGNATING THE YWCA ACTIVITY BUILDING TO THE LOCAL
OFFICIAL REGISTER OF HISTORIC RESOURCES
WHEREAS, at a noticed public hearing on September 18, 19791,
the Council heard testimony on the subject property; and
WHEREAS, the YWCA Activity Building, located at 1600 "M" Street,
was built in 1913; and
HEREAS, the structure is associated with Mr. Einstein, a. pioneer
merchant and banker in early Fresno; and
WHEREAS, the structure has been evaluated and determined to have
historical significance with thematic emphasis upon economics; and
WHEREAS,, the structure has been designated to the National Register
of Historic Places; and, as a point of Historical Interest in Fresno
County.
NOW, THEREFORE., BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Fresno
designate the YWCA Activity Building to the Local Official Register as set
forth in Article 4 of the Fresno Municipal Code relating to the Preserva-
tion of Historic Structures.
