RESOLUTION NO. - 7 W 3 6
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL ' OF THE CITY OF FRESNO
ESTABLISHING A JOINT USE OF FACILITIES AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE CITY OF FRESNO AND THE STATE CENTER
COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT
WHEREAS, Chapter 10 of Part 7, Section 10900 et seq.,, of the Education Code of
the State of California authorizes cities and school districts to
cooperate with each other in the development and execution of adequate
programs of community recreation and education; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 5 of Division 7, Section 6500 et sect. of Title l of the
Government Code of the State of California authorizes public agencies to
contract with each other to jointly exercise a power common to said
contracting parties; and
WHEREAS, CITY and COLLEGE DISTRICT are mutually interested in and concerned with
the provision of adequate facilities for community recreation and education
use; and
WHEREAS, CITY operates and maintains certain facilities suitable for COLLEGE DISTRICT
use; and
WHEREAS, COLLEGE DISTRICT has in its employ certain -employees qualified to supervise,
direct and conduct such programs; and
WHEREAS, COLLEGE DISTRICT operates and maintains certain facilities at Fresno City
College suitable for community recreation use; and
WHEREAS, CITY, through its Park and Recreation Department, has in its employ certain
employees qualified to supervise, direct and conduct such community
recreation programs, and
WHEREAS., the cooperative use of CITY and COLLEGE DISTRICT's Fresno City College
facilities will lead to expanded recreational and educational opportunities
for the citizens of Fresno.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Fresno that the
Parks and Recreation Department enter into Joint Use of Facilities`
Agreement with the State renter Community College District.
