A. RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF.
FRESNO FIXING THE RATES OF PAY To BE PAID TO
CERTAIN EMPLOYEES OF THE CITYOF FRESNO
ALLOCATED TO THE CLASSES SPECIFIED HEREINr
MATES OF PAY THAT ARE SUBJECT TO THE PRO-
VISIONS OF THE SECOND PARAGRAPH OF SECTION
809 OF THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF FRESNO
AND REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 77-342 AND ALL
AMENDMENTS THERETO
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRESNO RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1
That the rates of pay to be paid to certain employees of. the City
of Fresno allocated to the classes specified herein which are sub-
ject to the provisions of the second paragraph of Section 809 of
the Charter of the City of Fresno are established as provided in
this resolution.
SECTION 2.
Paid holidays for employees in the following classes shall be as
listed`
Concrete Finisher, Air Conditioning Mechanic, Construction Equip-
ment Operator, Hod Carrier, Pipefitter,, and Water Distribution
Supervisor I: Lincoln's Birthday, Admission Day, Columbus Day,
Veterans Day, (Employee's Birthday)
Electrician's assistant, Electrician, Utility Electrician, Elec-
trician Supervisor I and Fainter: Lincoln's Birthday, Washington's
Birthday, Admission Day,, Columbus Day, (Employee's Birthday).
Stone Mason., Stone Mason Supervisor I: Lincoln's Birthday,
Washington's Birthday, Admission Day, Columbus Day, Veterans
Day, (Employee's B rthday) ,

Concrete Finisher $11.90 an hoar rT 93 B
Hours of Work: 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, Monday 'to
Friday inclusive,
For any extra time worked up to a total of
2 hours after the regular 8 hours , have been
worked between the hoursaof 8:00 a.m and
4:30 p.m on Monday through Friday, time
and one-half the straight time rate shall
be paid. All overtime in addition to the
2 hours above described shall be paid at
double time, including all work on Saturdays,
ra - Sundays and holidays. When men are required
to report for work before 8 . t0 0 a.m. they
shall be paid double time prior to 8:00 a.m.
except when it is desirable to start the work
day earlier due to existing traffic, weather,
or similar conditions,
Vacation.
$1.80 per hour worked or paid in addition to
the above wages shall be paid by the City to
the Vacation Trust Fund for use by the affected
employee when vacation is taken
Shaw -Up Time:
Any worker reporting for work at the regular
starting time and for whom no work is provided
shall receive pay for 2 hours at the stipulated
rate ` for so reporting unless he has been notified
before the end of his/her preceding shift not to
report, and any employee who reports to work and
for whom work is provided shall receive not less
than 4 hours pay and if more than 4 hours are
worked in any one day shall not receive less
than full.. d:ay ' s pay therefore, unless prevented:
from working for reasons beyond the control of
the City of Fresno, including, but not limited,,
by such factors or inclement weather, or break-
down causing discontinuance of a major unit of
the project during which time workers are not
required or requested to remain on the jab by
the City of Fresno.
SECTION 4.

Air Conditioning
Mechanic-

Hours of Work:
The regular work week shall consist of forty
40) hours Monday 8 00 a.m. through Friday
4 A 3 (3 p.m., and the regular work day shall con-
sist of 8 hours, Monday through Friday between
the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., with a
lunch period of not more than cane -half hour,'
nor less than one-half hour, between the hours
of 12 o'clock noon and 1: 04 p.m.
overtime
All time worked in excess of the regular work
day or the regular work week, or 'before the
start or after the end: of the . regular work day,
as provided herein, and all work performed on
Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays shall constitute
overtime and shall be paid at double the straight
time rate, except that all such overtime on
jobbing and repair work shall be paid at one
and one-half times the straight time rate.

Vacation:
$1..00 per hour worked or paid shall be withheld
from the hourly wage by the City and transmitted
to the Vacation Trust Fund for use by the affected
employee when vacation is taken.
Show -Up Time:
Any worker reporting for work at the regular
starting time and for whom no work is provided
shall receive pay for 4 hours at the prevailing
rate of - wages unless notifiednot to report,
and any worker' who reports to work and for ;whom
work is provided shall receive not less than
4 hours pay and if more than 4 hours are worked
in any one day, shall receive not less than a
full day's pay. However., the exception shall
be when weather makes it impracticable to put
such an employee to work or when stoppage of
work is occasioned thereby or when a worker
leaves his/her work of his/her own accord.

Utility Electrician

Electrician Supervisor .1 $16.28 an hour U 48
Utility Electrician working on poles at a height
of 75 feet or more; on towers at a height of 100
feet or more, on other than a tower erection,
shall receive double time rate of pay for all such

time worked on such heights. Thirty minutes or
more of such work shall entitle the Utility Elec-
trician to the 'premium rate for that half day.
Work performed in trees shall receive time and
one-half up to 60 feet. Work in excess of 60
feet, double time.
Hours of Work;
Eight hours between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and
12:00 noon and 12 30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. shall
constitute a wcrk day. Forty hours work within
5 days, Monday through Friday inclusive shall
constitute'a week's work. harking hours may be
changed to conform to weather conditions.
Overtime.
All work: performed outside the regularly sched-
uled working hours and on Saturdays., Sundays

and holidays shall be paid for at double the
rate of pay,
Vacation,:
An amount equal to 12% of the employee's gross
wage shall be deducted from the net wage by the
City and transmitted to the Vacation Trust Fund:
for use by the affected employee when vacation
s taken.
Show-UpTime: When workers, other than Utility Electricians,
are directed to report on ;a. job and do not start
work due to weather conditions, lack of material
or other causes beyond their control, they shah,
receive 2 hours pay unless notified before
7 00 a.m,
When _Utility Electricians are directed to report
on a job and do not start work due to weather
conditions, lack of ma.•terial, or other causes
beyond their control, they shall receive 4 hours
pay "unless notified before 7: 00 a.m.

Hours of Work: Bight hours per day,. 5 days per week, Monday
through Friday inclusive. 1f an employee works in �
two or more classifications during any work day or
shift, he shall receive the rate of the highest
paid classification on which he has been: so em-
ployed for the full day or shift.
Overtime: For all work performed after 8 hours in any one
day or after 7 hours, or 7k hours where required
by shift operationsand. on Saturdays,, time and
one-half shall be paid Work performed on Sundays
and holidays shall be paid at double time.
Shift; Where single shifts' are worked., etarting time shall
be at 7: 0`0, 7: 30 r or 8 00 a.m. S'tarti times for
the afternoon shifts shall: be adjusted to the morn-
ing starting time.

where two shifts are worked, the first shift
shall work 71z hours and shall receive the
straight time rate for 8 hours and the second
shift shall work. 7 hours and shall receive the
regular straight time rate for 8 hours.
When three shifts are worked:, each shift shall
provide 7 hours work for 8 hours pay.
Vacation: $1.00 per hour worked or paid in addition to
the above wages shall be paid by the City to
the Vacation. Trust Fund for use by the affected
employee when vacation is -taken.
Show -Up Time: All employees :shall be paid for not less than
one-half day x s work if working 4 hours or less
and not lessthan a full day's pay if working
more than 4 hours, except when.climatic con-
ditions interfere with the work, in ,which event
work beyond the first half day shall be com-
puted by the hour and half hour. This provision
shall apply to work on Saturdays, Sundays, and:
holidays, as well as work on regular work days.
An employee shall be notified at the end of his
shift if he is not required to work, the follow-
ing d.ay. -In the event an employee , is not so
notified and. ,reports for work', but is not given
any work, he shall be paid for two (2 ) hours for
such loss of time. In. the event of inclement
weather or breakdown of equipment, the Cite,
unless a lesser period is agreed to, may give
said notice by mutually agreed upon method not
less than two (2) hours prior to an employee's
regularstarting time.

In case an employee works on more than one ciassx-,_
ficatien or kind of work in any one day or shift, ,-_.-
he/she shall receive the rate of the highest paid
classification on which he/she has been employed
for the full day.
Hours of Work.
Eight hours per day, 5 days per week', Monday
through Friday inclusive. The regular starting
time shall be 8:00`a.m. Where existing weather
or traffic conditions render it.desirable to start
the ,day shift at an earlier hour such starting
time may be made earler by mutual consent. In
such events the starting time agreed to must con-
tinue for the duration of the job or until changed
by mutual consent.
Overtime:
Double the regular hourly rate shall be paid for
all wore performed on Sundays and holidays. One
and one-half times : the regular hourly rate shall
be paid for ` all work performed before a shift
begins and after it ends and for all Saturday work.
Vacations
$1.15 per hour worked or paid in addition -the above
wages shall be paid by the City to the Vacation
Trust Fund for use by the affected employee when
vacation is taken,
Show -Up Time:
When a 'worker is called out to work on Saturdays
Sundays or holidays, he/she shall be paid at
least 4`hours at the applicable overtime rate.
All time worked beyond the first consecutive
hours on Saturday, Sunday and holidays shall be
reckoned by the hour at the applicable overtime
rate,

inclement weather excepted.
Any worker who works after 10:00 a.m. and is them
dismissed, shall be paid for a full half -day.
Any worker working after 8:00 p.m. who has com
menced work at 8:00 a.m. of the same day shall
be paid for a full-8 hours, unless the lay-off
is due to the lack of material due to causes
beyond the control of the City of Fresno.
