A: RESOLUTION OF THE CITE` OF FRESNO r CALIFORNIA
URGING ALLOCATION OF FUITDS 13Y THE FRESNp
COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS FOR THE FRESNC
CITY -COUNTY COMMISSION ON THE STATUS OF WOMEN.
WHEREAS r the Fresno Cite: -County Commission on the Status
of Women (CSW) has completed studies in the areas of employment,
perinatal care, and alcoholism for women.;; and
WHEREAS, the CSW is engaged in the implementation phase
of these studies at the direction of the Fresno City Council and
E the Fresno County Board of Supervisors; and

WHEREAS, the CSW provides information and referral
services to approximately seventy women per month, and
WHEREAS, the CSW provided vital information about employ-
ment, health legal rights and other concerns to aver 44Q woven
attending the Women's nay/Fair'; and
WHEREAS, the CSW'-sponsored Professional Women ll s Network
has provided over one hundred. individuals With information on
career options, upward mobility, and personal attitudes for
career success; and
WHEREAS,, the CSW has focused: community attention ;: on the
problems of rape and incest victims; and
WHEREAS, the CSW has provided advocacy, consultation,
and technical assistance to help organizations serving women
to develop needed services and: provide them in a competent
manner; and
WHEREAS, the Fresno City Council has confidence in the
CSW'sutility in improving conditions for Fresno City and County
women; and
WH13REAS, the City Council has confidence in the CSW's
productivity in its service to the women of Fresno City and
County; and
WHEREAS, the CSW budget was thoroughly scrutinized before
recommendation of approval by the City's Chief Administrative
Officer, and
