RESOLUTION No. 79-325 14S
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNNCIL OF THE CITY of
FRESNO? CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF
ONE SURPLUS FIRE TRUCK TO THE CITY OF LINDSA:Y
WHEREAS, the. Council has received and considered the report'
and recommendation of the Chief Administrative Officer and upon
such report and recommendation finds as follows
1, The City of Lindsay has offered the City of Fresno the stem
of one dollar ($l) for one; firetruck described as a 65-foot Pirsch
.Aerial Ladder Truck and identified as Apparatus No. 16
2. The Fire Department of the City of Fresno has no further
use for said fire truck, which was purchased in 1948 and used by
the City of Fresno for thirty --one years,
3. The City of Lindsay could be utilizer, through a request
from the City of Fresno, for mutual aid in the event of a ma'
or
fire disaster in the City of Fresno.
4. it is to the best interest and advantage of the City of
Fresno to accept the offer of the City of Lindsay.
NOW, THEREFORR y BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Fresno that one fire truck, identified as Apparatus No. 16, is
declared surplus and the Purchasing Agent is authorized and directed
to execute an agreement approved by the City Attorney for the sale
of said fire engine to the City of Lindsay for the total price of
one dollar ($l) provided that it be returned to the City of Fresno
when no longer useable or needed for fire protection and provided
further that the City of Fresno be relieved from legal responsibility
while the fire engine is under the ownership and control of the City
of Lindsay.
