A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITE` OF
FRESNO, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF
ONE SURPLUS FIRE ENGINE TO THE CHOWCH I LLA
VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT.

WHEREAS, the Council has rece:J.ved and considered the report
and recommendation of the Chief Administrative Officer, and upon

such report and recommendation finds as follows
1. The Chowohi lla Volunteer Fire Department has offered the
City of Fresno the sum of one dollar ($1) for one: fire engine
described as a 1230 GPI Diamond T Triple Combination Pumper and
identified as Apparatus No 23.
2. The Fire Department of the City of Fresno has no further
use for said fire engine, which was purchased in 1957 and used
by the City of Fresno for twenty-two years
. The Chowchi.11a Volunteer Fire Department could be utilized,
through a request from the City of Fresno, for mutual aid in the
event of a. major fire disaster in the City of Fresno.
4. It is to the best interest and advantage of the City of
Fresno to accept the offer of the Chowch.illa volunteer Fire
Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Fresno that one fire engine, identified as Apparatus No. 23 is
declared surplus and the Purchasing Agent is authorized and directed
to execute ,an agreement approved by the City .A:ttorney for the sale
of said fire engine to the Chowchilla Volunteer Fire Department for
the total price of one dollar ('$l) provided that .it be returned to
the City of Fresno when no longer useable or needed for fire protec-
tion and provided further that the City of Fresno be relieved from
legal responsibility ,while the fire engine is under the ownership
and control of the Chowchilla. Volunteer Fire Department.
