RESOLUTION NO. T19-25
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FRESNO CALIFORNIA? AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF
ONE SURPLUS FIRE ENGINE TO THE BIG CREEK
VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS the Council has received and considered the report
and _recommendation of the Chief Administrative Officer, and upon
such report and recommendation finds as follows
1. The Big Creek Volunteer Fire Department has offered the
City of Fresno the sum of one dollar ($I) for one fire engine
described as a 1250 GPM: Van Pelt Triple Combination Pumper and
identified as Apparatus No. 25.
2 The Fire Department of the City of Fresno has no further
use for said fire engine, which was purchased in 1950 and used by
the City of Fresno for twenty-nine years'.
3. The Big Creek volunteer Fire Department could be utilized,
through a request from the City of Fresno, for mutual aid in the
event of a major fire disaster in the City of Fresno.
4. It is to the best interest and advantage of the City of
Fresno to accept the offer of the 'Big Creek Volunteer Fire
Department.
NOW r THEREFORE r BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Fresno that one fire engine, identified as Apparatus No. 25, is
declared: surplus and the Purchasing Agent is authorized and directed
to execute an agreement approved: by the City Attorney for the sale
of said fire engine to the Big Creek Volunteer Fire Department for
the total price of one dollar ($l) provided that it be returned to
the City of Fresno when no longer useable or needed for fire protec-
tion and provided further that the City of Fresno be relieved from
legal responsibility while the fire engine is under the ownership
and control of the Big Creek Volunteer Fire Department.
