RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRESNO , CALIFORNIA,, AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF ONE SURPLUS FIRE ENGINE TO SHE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR, NATIONAL PARS SERVICE, SEQUOIA AND KINGS CANYON NATIONAL PARKS. WHEREAS, the Council has received and considered the report and recommendation of the Chief Administrative ` Officer, and upon, such report and recommendation finds as follows: 1, The United States Department of the Interior, National Park Service, Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks ;has offered the City of Fresno the sum of one dollar ($l) for one fire engine described: as a 1250 GPM Van Pelt Triple Combination Pumper and identified as Apparatus No. 12 2. The Fire Department of the City of Fresno has no further use for said fire engine, which was purchased in 1952 and used by the City of Fresno for twenty-seven years. 3. The United States Department of the Interior, National Park Service, Sequoia. and Kings Canyon National Parks could be utilized,, through a request from the City of Fresno, for mutual aid in the event of a major fire disaster in the City of Fresno. 4. It is to the best interest and advantage of the City of Fresno to accept the offer of the United States Department of the Interior,, National Park Service, Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Fresno that one fire engine, identified as Apparatus No. 12r.is declared surplus and the Purchasing Agent is authorized and directed to execute an agreement ' approved by the City Attorney for the sale of said fire engine to the United States Department of the Interior, National Park Service, Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks for the total price of one dollar ($l) provided that it be returned to the City of Fresno when no longer useable or needed for fire protec- tion and provided further that the City of Fresno be relieved from legal responsibility while the fire engine is under the ownership ZZA `siv L �Af4�h��%MYVIMNi ;S(tn.='alxU1C.a _ IMMMFW w[" and control., of the United ,Mates Department of the Interior, National.
