A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF FRESNO r CALIFORNIA., AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF
AD-DIIN18TRATIVE OFFICER TO APPLY FOR AND
EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH THE CALIFORNIA
DEPARTMENT OF ,AGING FOR THE PURPOSES OF
RECEIVING _FUNDS PURSUANT TO TITLE III OF
THE OLDER :AMERICANS ACT ;OF 1965, AS AMENDED.
WHEREAS, the City. of Fresno has ;been informed that it iu
eligible to apply for a state grant pursuant to Title 11 of
the older Americans Act of 1965, as amended, in the amount
of $50, 615
NOW, THEREFOR, be it resolved by the Council of the
City of Fresno that;
(1) A proposal be forwarded to the State Department of
Aging for the operation of a Fresno Aging Information and
Referral Project in accordance with Title III of the Older
Americans Act.
(2) A contract be prepared to carry out the project kn terl
as the Fresno Aging Information and Referral Project.
(3) The Chief Administrative Officer is hereby authorized
to execute a contract to receive funds for the project know
as the Fresno Aging Information and Referral. Project.
(4) The Chief Administrative officer is hereby
authorized to contract fort receive.and expend any additional
funds that may be made available through carryover from the
previous year or special appropriation allocated at any time
during the fiscal year 1979-19 € 0, in accordance with Title
III of the older Americans Act. of 1965, as amended.
(5) The Controller and his successor, or del.ega.te
is authorized to do all things necessary to be done in order
to obtain payment for a contract, including but not limited
to the selection of a commercial bank to receive payment
vouchers, the submission of signature specimens, and the
filing of requests or vouchers for payment.
