RESOLUTION NO. 7 9 - 2 4
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRESNO,
APPROVING THE APPLICATION AND THE PROJECT AGREE--
IViENT FOR HISTORIC PRESERVATION GRANTS-IN-AID FUNDS
FOR THE HISTORIC STRUCTURES PLAN AND HISTORIC
DISTRICTS PLAN PROJECT,
WHEREAS, the: Council desires the development of an Historic Structures Plan
and Historic Districts Plan as prescribed by the Preservation of historic Structures -
ordinance; and
WHEREAS the Congress under Public Law 89-665 has authorised the establishment
of a National Historic Preservation. Grants -in -Aid Program, providing matching funds
to the State of California and its political subdivisions for historic preservation,
survey, planning, development and acquisition projects, and
WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks and Recreation is responsible for the
administration of the program within the state, setting up necessary rules and
procedures governing application by focal agencies under the program; and -
WHEREAS, said adopted procedures established by the State. Department of Parks
and Recreation require the applicant to certify by resolution the approval: of
applications and the availability of local matching funds prior to submission of
said applications to the state.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council, hereby approves the filing of
an application for the National Historic Grant -in -Aid Assistance ,for the Historic
Structures Plan and Historic Districts Plan project;; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council appoints the Chief Administrative
Officer or his authorized: deputy as agent of the City to coordinate, prooess,
and execute all contracts, agreements, amendments and ancillary documents within
the scope of the attached application; and
BE IT FURTHER: RESOLVED that the Council agrees that all required local
matching funds will be prow-1ded for the project.
