HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - City Council - 79-025 - 1979-01-23.O,, F i nance a RESOLUTION NO. 79-25 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRESNO AMBNDINC THE APPLICATION FOR THE 1976 NEJEDLY-HART STATE, URBAN AND COASTAL PARK BOND ACT MONIES, Pr Vinland Park Deyelvp�en� P���j ect WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted the State, Urban, and Coastal Park Bend Act of 1976, which provides funds to the State of California and its political subdivisions for acquiring lands and for developing facilities for public recreation and historical purposes; and WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks and Recreation has been delegated the responsibility for the administration of the program within the State, setting up necessary procedures governing applica- tion by local agencies under the program, and WHEREAS, said procedures established by the State Department of Parks and Recreation require the applicant to certify by resolution the approval of applications prior to submission of said applications to the State; and WHEREAS, said applications contain, assurances that the applicant must comply with; and WHEREAS, the applicant agency will enter into an agreement with the State of California for the acquisition and/or development of the project; and WHEREAS, the Lafayette School site land acquisition and develop- ment project was approved for funding under the State, Urban and Coastal Bond. Act of 1976, under the City's original application; and WHEREAS, the Lafayette School, site land acquisition and develop - merit project has received additional funding through Land and Water Conservation. Funds of $150, 000; and WHEREAS, the City desires to withdraw from funding a portion of the approved project, the Lafayette Project, in the amount of 119,400 and substitute another, the Vinland Park Development Project, for funding in the amount of $1.19, 400 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Fresno hereby: P 1. Approves the filing of an amended application for 1976 State grant assistance, withdrawing $119,,400 in funding of the approved project, known as the Lafayette School site land acquisition and development project, and sub- stituting the Finland Park Development Project for $119,400 in funding; and 2. Certifies that said agency understands the assurances in the application; and 3. Certifies that said agency has or will have sufficient funds to operate and maintain the project; and 4. Certifies that said agency has reviewed and: understands the General Provisions contained in the sample State/ local agreement; and 5. Appoints the Chief Administrative Officer as agent of the City to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents including but not limited to, application, agreements, amendments, payment requests, and so on which may be necessary for the completion of the aforementioned prof ect.
