A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FRESNO, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF
ONE SURPLUS FIRE ENGINE TO THE AUBERRY
VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fresno authorized
the sale of one surplus fire engine to the City of Madera
by Resolution No. 76-56 and
WHEREAS, said fire engine has been returned to the City
of Fresno because it is no longer useable by the City of Madera,

WHEREAS, the Council has received and considered the report
and recommendation of the Chief Administrative Officer, and: upon
such report and recommendation finds as follows:
1. The Auberry Volunteer Fire Department has offered the
City of Fresno the sum of one dollar ($1.00) for one fire engine
described as a 1250 gpm Van Pelt Tripple Combination Pumper
and identified as Apparatus No. 17.
2. The Fire Department of the City of Fresno has no further
use for said fire engine, which was purchased in 1952 and used
by the City of Fresno for twenty-four years.
3. The Auberry Volunteer Fire Department could be utilized,
through a request from the City of Fresno, for mutual aid in the
event of a major fire disaster in the City of Fresno.
4. It is to the best interest and advantage of the City
of Fresno to accept the offer of the Auberry Volunteer Fire
Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Fresno that one fire engine, identified as Apparatus No. 17,
is declared surplus and the Purchasing .Agent is authorized and
directed to execute an agreement approved by the City .Attorney
for the sale of said fire engine to the Auberry Volunteer Fire
Department for the total price of one dollar ($1.00) provided
that it be returned to the City of Fresno when, no longer useable
or needed for fire protection and provided further that the

City of Fresno be relieved from legal responsibility while the
fire engine is under the ownership and control of the Auberry
Volunteer Fire Department.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 76-56 is
hereby repealed.
