AMENDMENT TO MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING DATED
11115114 BETWEEN COMMUNITY SCIENCE WORKSHOP NETWORK
AND CITY OF FRESNO PARKS, AFTER SCHOOL, RECREATION AND
COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT
This AMENDMENT ("Amendment") is made as of June 1't 2015, by and between
the Community Science Workshop Network ("CSW Network") and the City of Fresno on
behalf of the Fresno Community Science Workshop program ("Grantee").
WHEREAS, CSW Network and Grantee have entered into the Memorandum of
Understanding dated November 15,2014 ("Agreement") (as defined below); and
WHEREAS, CSW Network and Grantee desire to modify the Agreement to
increase the amount of the grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, CSW Network and Grantee agree as follows:
1. Modifications to the Agreement. The Agreement is hereby modified as
follows:
Sections 1 and 2 are hereby amended in their entirety to read as follows:
1. The purpose of this grant is to further Grantor's charitable and educational
purposes by providing funding to promote the advancement of science education in the
City of Fresno through the Highway City Community Science Workshop, providing
hands-on science education to underserved youth, and by funding release time for
Manuel Hernandez to pafticipate in CSW Network activities. The grant timeline is from
January 1"t 2015, through December 31st 2015. The Grantee will at all times abide by
the terms and conditions of the grant outlined in Exhibits A, B, and C.
2. The total amount of the grant contemplated by this Agreement is sixteen
thousand on hundred and twenty five dollars ($16, 125), subject to the last sentence of
this paragraph2 (the "Grant"). Within ten (10) days afterthe execution and deliveryof
this Agreement by Grantee to Grantor, Grantor shall pay to Grantee the first installment
of five thousand dollars ($5,OOO¡. The balance of the full amount of the grant shall be
paid in a second installment of eleven thousand one hundred and twenty five dollars
($t t ,125) before June 30th 201 5. Grantee understands and agrees that Grântor's ability
and obligation to pay any amount of the Grant to Grantee under this Agreement
depends upon Grantor's receipt of sufficient funds from contributors in support of the
purposes described in paragraph 1, and Grantee agrees not to take any action to
require Grantor to pay to Grantee any amount under this Agreement to the extent that
such funds on deposit with Grantor are insufficient on the date the amount is due to be
paid to Grantee.
Grantee shall use the Grant solely for the purposes stated in paragraph 1, and Grantee
shall repay to Grantor any portion of the Grant that is not used for those purposes. Any
significant changes in the purposes for which grant funds are spent must be approved in
writing by Grantor before implementation.
lN WITNESS WHEREOF, Community Science Workshop Network and Grantee
have executed this Amendment as of the first reference above.

Board, as well as review of documents, budgets, and grants relating to Network
activities that benefit the CSt4/ slfes. ln addition, Manuel Hernandez shall facilitate
Fresno CSl4/ staff members' participation in Network activities such as events and
trainings.
