FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE VIOLENCE INTERVENTION AND PREVENTION
INITIATIVE GRANT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF FRESNO AND HOPE
NOW FOR YOUTH REGARDING FUNDING FOR WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
OPPORTUNITIES FOR AT-RISK YOUNG MEN PROGRAM
THIS FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE GRANT AGREEMENT (Amendment) is entered into
effect on _____________________, between the CITY OF FRESNO, a California municipal
corporation (City), and HOPE NOW FOR YOUTH a California nonprofit organization
(Agency).
RECITALS
WHEREAS, the City and the Agency entered into an agreement on May 8, 2023
(Agreement), to provide WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITITES FOR AT-
RISK YOUNG MEN (Project); and
WHEREAS, the Agreement is set to terminate on May 8, 2024; and
WHEREAS, the Project is not yet complete; and
WHEREAS, the City and the Agency desire to extend the Agreement through May
31, 2024 to complete the Project; and
WHEREAS, the City and the Agency desire to continue program progress reporting
for the extended agreement period through May 31, 2024.
WHEREAS, with entry into this Amendment, the Agency agrees it has no claim,
demand, or dispute against the City and affirms that it will abide by all obligations contained
in the agreement entered into on May 8, 2023.
AGREEMENT
NOW, THEREFORE, the parties agree that the aforesaid Agreement be amended
as follows:
1. The recitals to this Amendment are incorporated and made a part of this
Amendment.
2. The Agreement is extended through May 31, 2024.
3. Except as otherwise provided herein, the Agreement, and all obligations
contained therein remain in full force and effect. In the event of any conflict
between the Agreement and this Amendment, this Amendment shall control.
4. The final report is due no later than June 7, 2024
5. The final invoice is due no later than June 30, 2024.
