Mutual Assistance Agreement
This Agreement (Agreement) is between the Fresno State Police Department (FSPD) of
Califomia State University, Fresno and the City of Fresno Police Department (FPD).
The Parties agree as follows:
The purpose of this Agreement is to provide for mutual assistance between the two Parties to the
Agreement.
FSPD has jurisdiction upon and about the perimeter area of the Califomia State University,
Fresno campus within the City of Fresno, as provided in Education Code 89560. FPD has
concurrent jurisdiction upon and about this same area.
FPD accepts primary responsibility for responding to calls from FSPF for emergency assistânce
and./or requests from FSPD for mutual assistance on the California State University, Fresno
Campus, in the following manner-:
A. If the event requiring aid is one that can be anticipated, the Northeast District
Commander or his/her designee will be notified by FSPD ¿rs soon as is reasonablyl
possible. The situation will be mutually evaluated and collaborative plans formulated
by FPD and FSPD regarding the scope of assistance.
B. If in the event of an unexpected emergency where the FSPD requests immediate
assistance, the FPD will respond and coordinate with the FSPD to resolve the
sit¡lafion and restore orelor.
C. FPD and FSPD agree to provide back-up patrol as a form of mutual assistance when
requested by the other within the concurrent geographical area of both agencies.

Conflicts shall be resolved by and between the Chiefs of Police of the two agencies.
