HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - - 2004-044 - 2/10/2004 RESOLUTION NO. 200444 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF THE CALIFORNIA MULTI-JURISDICTIONAL METHAMPHETAMINE ENFORCEMENT TEAMS (CAL-MMET) 2003-4 GRANT PASS THROUGH AWARD OF $263,242 AND EXECUTION OF PROGRAM DOCUMENTS WHEREAS, the County of Fresno through the State Office of Criminal Justice Planning and Office of Emergency Services, is a recipient of the California Multi-Jurisdictional Methamphetamine Enforcement Teams grant funding for 2003-4; and WHEREAS, the City desires to receive grant pass through funds from and to provide program services to the County of Fresno; and WHEREAS, the procedures established by the Office of Criminal Justice Planning and Office of Emergency Services require the City's governing body to certify approval of the funding and program participation; and WHEREAS, the City will enter into an agreement with the County of Fresno for the grant funded program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRESNO HEREBY: 1. Authorize the acceptance of and participation in the County of Fresno 2003-4 CAL-MMET grant program contingent upon grant funds being available, consistent with Constitutional and local law requirements and this resolution; and 2. Certifies, to the extent consistent with all Constitution and local law requirements and this resolution, that the City has or will have sufficient funds to operate and maintain the program; and 3. Certifies that the City has reviewed, understands and to the extent consistent with all Constitutional and local law requirements and this resolution agrees to the provisions contained in the application and program guidelines; and 4. Appoints the Chief of Police for the City of Fresno and designee(s) thereof, as agents of the City of Fresno, to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit documents including, but not limited to, applications, agreements, memoranda of understanding, payment requests, certifications and assurances and so on, which may be necessary for the completion of the program, including any extensions or amendments thereof, subject to prior approval as to form by the City Attorney's Office.
