Badertscher, Management Analyst II PURPOSE The purpose of this procedure is to establish response criteria for the Water Rescue Team (WRT). APPLICATION This procedure is to be used by Fresno County EMS Communications Center personnel when dispatching incidents requiring Water Rescue Team (WRT) response. It is also provided for Fresno Fire Department (FFD or Department) suppression personnel as a guide for these response procedures. OPERATIONAL POLICY This section intentionally left blank. OPERATIONAL GUIDELINE The following types of incidents/situations require the water rescue team to be dispatched along with any other necessary emergency equipment and personnel: Any incident involving a body of water (i.e., canals, rivers, lakes, and ponding basins) At the discretion of the incident commander PROCESS This section intentionally left blank. Section 204.004b Page 1 of 2 INFORMATION The Fresno County EMS Communications Center has predefined response plans for incidents involving water rescue team response. They are defined as: WRT 1: Engine 19, Rescue 19, and Engine 11 WRT 2: Engine 19, Rescue 219, and Engine 11 The two (2) primary problem natures for water rescue incidents and the associated response plans are: Rescue-Water-Dive: First due engine, truck, battalion chief, and WRT 1 Rescue-Water-Boat: First due engine, truck, battalion chief, and WRT 2 DEFINITIONS This section intentionally left blank.
