SECTION 206.001b STATION FUEL SUPPLY
PURPOSE
To establish standard practices for the procurement, storage, and documentation of
diesel fuel, diesel exhaust fluid and TrueFuel stored at fire stations.
APPLICATION
This procedure is intended for all Fresno Fire Department (FFD or Department) fire
stations that store diesel and gasoline products for apparatus and small motors.

OPERATIONAL GUIDELINE
Company officers should gauge the fuel and diesel exhaust fluid supply in their
respective stations each day to ensure ample supplies of these fluids are on hand at
all times.
A daily record of fuel on hand and disbursals should be maintained in the station Day
View .
Diesel storage ConVaults should be stuck prior to and after delivery of diesel fuel to
verify the quantity delivered.
Diesel storage ConVaults should be stuck periodically between deliveries to ensure
supplies are adequate. Additional fuel should be ordered whenever the supply is
reduced to 100 gallons.
• When requesting additional fuel from the supply section, indicate the balance
on hand and the delivery location.
• Enter a work order in Corrigo to request a delivery of fuel.

All receipts of fuel should be entered in the Day View , and the delivery invoice should
be forwarded to the finance section.
Fuel cans for floto pumps requiring a 24:1 mixture should be clearly labeled.
Fire stations that have a sprinkler system are allowed to store up to 20 gallons of
combustible liquids; fire stations that do not have a sprinkler system are allowed to
store up to 10 gallons of combustible liquids.
• These limits do not include the diesel fuel stored in the ConVault.
PROCESS
Diesel fuel deliveries are coordinated by the supply section.
• Weekly deliveries occur at fire stations with high levels of fuel consumption.
• All of the additional fire stations receive diesel fuel deliveries every 10 to 14
days based on the station’s average consumption and the supplier’s delivery
schedule.
• TruFuel products are requested from the supply section.
• To be delivered and stored in five (5) gallon containers.
When restocking the apparatus with TruFuel there are two approved methods:
• Members may reuse and refill an empty one-quart TruFuel container.
• Members may transfer the fuel to a one gallon, California Air Resources Board
approved portable fuel container.
Diesel exhaust f luid is requested from and delivery coordinated by the supply section.
