HomeMy WebLinkAbout106.017 - FC-08, Employee's Withholding Exemption FormEffective Date: October 2007 Section 106.017 Current Revision Date: 4/1/2022 ADA Next Revision (2) Date: 4/1/2027 Page 1 of 2 100 Administrative Manual SECTION 106.017 EMPLOYEE WITHHOLDING ALLOWANCE FORM (W-4) (FC-08) PURPOSE The purpose of Administrative Manual, Section 106.017, Employee Withholding Allowance Form (W-4) (FC-08) is to allow an employee to select the number of allowances (exemptions) claimed for federal payroll tax withholding purposes. APPLICATION The FC-8 (W-4) form is to be completed at the time of employment prior to the first paycheck issuance. The initial form is valid for the duration of employment; however, employees wishing to change their allowances may do so at any time by logging PeopleSoft HRMS, navigating to the W-4 page of the Payroll and Compensation page and enter changes to filing status, credit amounts and deductions. OPERATIONAL POLICY All employees will be provided a form FC-8 at the beginning of their employment. The form must be completed by all employees and turned in to the Business Office Payroll Unit prior to processing initial paychecks. Employees wishing to change their allowances at a later date are allowed to do so by logging PeopleSoft HRMS, navigating to the W-4 page of the Payroll and Compensation page and enter changes to filing status, credit amounts and deductions. OPERATIONAL GUIDELINE The information on this form is used by the Payroll to determine how much tax will be withheld per the guidelines established by the Internal Revenue Service. The higher the number of allowances claimed on the form, the lower amount of taxes that will be withheld. Employees wishing to change their allowances at a later date may do so by completing a form and submitting it to the Payroll Unit.
