Grieser, Executive Assistant ADA PURPOSE All Explorers will comply with the dress and grooming standards established for firefighters by the Fresno Fire Department (FFD or Department) unless otherwise stated in this manual. APPLICATION This section intentionally left blank. OPERATIONAL POLICY All Explorers will comply with the following uniform standards: 1. Trousers: Navy blue cap, navy, wash and wear pants (Model# PT-10). 2. Day Uniform Shirt: Flying cross, light blue, wash and wear material with short sleeves and two breast pockets. The Explorer patch will be affixed to both shoulder sleeves; both 1 inch below the seam of their respective sleeves and centered. a. Once the Explorer is ride-along qualified, the embroidered Explorer Badge will be placed above the left pocket, 1 inch from the top of the left pocket and centered ( Model#7455125). b. T-Shirt: The approved navy blue Explorer t-Shirt will be worn under the day uniform shirt, during physical training periods or during strenuous work details. c. Jacket (optional): Navy blue jacket can be worn as needed (Model# JT-22). d. Cap: Approved navy blue Explorer cap (baseball style). Section 606.001 Page 2 of 4 e. Belt: Plain black leather, 1 ½ inch width with a plain chrome buckle or a Post approved Department uniform buckle. f. Safety Boots: The boots are to be black, shine-able leather, high top, with safety steel toe and steel shank. Boots must meet the FFD standards for safety boots. g. Tie: Navy blue and worn with uniform shirt for dress purposes only. h. Name Tag: To be worn over the right shirt pocket, centered, and the bottom of the name tag in line with the top of the right pocket. Name tags will be provided by the Post. i.
