RESOLUTION NO. 93-196
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FRESNO, CALIFORNIA, RELATING TO THE ABATEMENT
OF WEEDS, RUBBISH, REFUSE AND DIRT FROM
PRIVATE PROPERTY AND STREETS, AND THE
ABATEMENT OF NUISANCES FROM ALLEYS, PARK
STRIPS, SIDEWALKS, STREETS AND PRIVATE
PROPERTY
WHEREAS, the City Council has declared weeds, rubbish,
refuse, and dirt on certain properties to be public nuisances and
ordered them to be posted according to law; and
WHEREAS, on October 26, 1982, the City Council added Article
8 to Chapter 9 of the Fresno Municipal Code providing for the
abatement of public nuisances from alleys, park strips,
sidewalks, streets and private properties; and
WHEREAS, The Housing and Neighborhood Revitalization
Director of the City of Fresno has found it necessary to
undertake such abatement action pursuant to Fresno Municipal Code
Section 9-808; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the annual cost to the
City for a contract to abate weeds, rubbish, refuse, and dirt
will be approximately $91, 000, the greater part of such cost to
be reimbursed through property tax lien assessments; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the cost to the City
for a contract to abate nuisances from alleys, park strips,
sidewalks, streets and private property will be approximately
$70, 000 the greater part of such cost to be reimbursed through
property tax lien assessments;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FRESNO, that the Housing and Neighborhood Revitalization Director
enter into two contractual agreements with the King of Kings
Lutheran Center for the performance of weed and rubbish abatement
work and for performance of public nuisance abatement work for
the period beginning July 1, 1993, and ending December 31, 1993 .
