As city boundaries expand, community services are provided to areas originally served only by individual domestic and agricultural wells. Improper abandonment of such wells presents a significant risk of contaminating the city's community water supply. For this reason, when development occurs, it is extremely important to ensure the safe and proper destruction of all abandoned water wells. 1221 Fulton Mall/P.O.Box 11867/Fresno,California 93775/(559)445-3271 /FAX(559)445-3301 Equal Employment Opportunity•Affirmative Action-Disabled Employer Ft Will Tackett A-10-007, TPM 2010-05 August 26, 2010 Page 2 of 2 Prior to destruction of any existing agricultural well(s), a sample of the upper most fluid in the well column should be sampled for lubricating oil.
