e) Select Check Out
f) Proceed to fill in the required information regarding each
piece of equipment being checked out.
g) If not checking out an item listed (i.e., sleeping bag) select
“N/A”.
h) When checking equipment back in, follow the above steps.
2. Do not take any inventory item or fire shelter from another pack to fill
any deficiencies. Place that pack out of service, notify the appropriate
personnel, and check out another pack.
3. EMTF packs are only to be assigned to personnel who have an order
for an EMTF assignment. Do not check out a pack for any other
assignments.
4. Once the EMTF pack is assigned to you, inventory, check the fire
shelter, and make a note of any deficiencies. Once the pack is returned,
inventory and clean it. If there are any missing items or damage to the
EMTF pack, make a note in PS Trax and contact the appropriate
personnel.
Cleaning:
1. Open every zippered and drawstring pocket, empty the pack of all fire-
line debris and trash by turning upside-down and shaking. Place all the
inventory in a labeled trash bag with the pack number.
2. Clean the pack by blowing the dust off and/or wash thoroughly with
water, making sure to wash all pockets. If blowing off the pack, please
replace all the items in the correct pockets once it is clean. If washing
the pack, please make a note in PS Trax so it can be restocked when it
is dry.
3. Hang the clean pack to dry in the shade. Do not dry your pack in direct
sunlight or in the dryer.
