APPLICATION Individual performance evolutions (IPEs) are used to document skill level performance. OPERATIONAL POLICY This section intentionally left blank. OPERATIONAL GUIDELINE Active members should perform (IPEs) without any failures in task steps. PROCESS Equipment Needed: One firefighter in full personal protective equipment, one Self-contained Breathing Apparatus, and one engine with a full complement of hose and equipment. Task: Deploy and advance the 2-1/2-inch hose line to a designated point of 200 feet and configure a packing house loop. Performance Outcome: The member, while operating on a simulated fire ground, should be able to deploy and advance a 2-1/2-inch hose line to a designated mark and configure a packing house loop. Remove hose bundle and place on shoulder. 2. Grasp loop and turn towards direction of travel. 3. Deploy hose using the loop to clear last section of hose from bed. 4. Advance to the point of attack, maintaining control of the hose bundle, and releasing the loop as needed. 5. Identify and navigate any hazards or obstacles ensuring proper hose deployment. 6. Place hose bundle at the point of attack. 7. Remove straps from bundle and form a loop with at least 10 feet of hose behind nozzle in a straight line towards the target. 8. Place nozzle under hose at least 2 feet past, near coupling. 9. Flake supply hose to remove any excessive kinks. 10. Sit on hose where the hose crosses itself, secure nozzle. 11. Call for water.
