APPLICATION Individual performance evolutions (IPE) are used to document skill level performance. OPERATIONAL POLICY This section intentionally left blank. OPERATIONAL GUIDELINE Active members will perform IPE without any failures in task steps. PROCESS 1. Equipment Needed: Engine with standard pre-connected attack line, full personal protective equipment (PPE) with Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA). 2. Task: Deploy and advance the pre-connected hose to a designated point and reload the hose. 3. Performance Outcome: The candidate, while operating on a simulated fire ground, will be able to deploy and advance a pre-connected attack line to a designated mark and reload the hose. Section 316.002 Page 1 of 4 4. Candidate Directive: “Deploy the pre-connected attack line to the designated point of attack. Once deployed, you will reload the hose. Do you have any questions?” 5. Critical Errors: If the candidate performs any of the following errors, the evolution will be terminated, and the candidate will fail the current test attempt. • Perform an unsafe act which could result in injury to himself / herself or the public. • Perform an act which did or could have damaged equipment. Place the proper arm through the loops and grasp the nozzle with your hand. 2. Face the direction of travel and remove the hose from the bed. 3. Ensure all hose is removed from the bed. 4. Advance the nozzle to the point of attack, maintaining control of the nozzle, and releasing the appropriate loops as needed. 5. Identify and navigate any hazards or obstacles ensuring proper hose deployment. 6. Place nozzle and enough hose to initiate an interior hose advancement at the point of attack. 7. Flake hose to remove any excessive kinks. 8. Control the nozzle and call for water. END TIME: __________ Load P *F P *F 9. Remove the nozzle and drain the water from the hose. 10. Began to flat load with the first row to the rear of the bed. 11. Place deployment loops on rows 3 (front) and 8 (rear). 12. Complete the flat load correctly with the nozzle ready for deployment.
