PURPOSE
Promote training and assist in measuring fire ground effectiveness of crews
performing basic water supply and hand line deployment evolutions.
APPLICATION
Securing a water supply and deploying pre-connected hand lines is one of the most
common and critical tasks performed at fire scenes. Crew competence in this
crucial evolution is a must for fire companies.
OPERATIONAL POLICY
This section intentionally left blank.
OPERATIONAL GUIDELINE
All hose lines should be completely deployed from hosebeds prior to charging.
Hose lines should not have kinks which would reduce the effectiveness of water
delivery.
All nozzles should operate at appropriate pressures to achieve stated gpm.
PROCESS
Time begins when the apparatus stops at fire hydrant and ends when water is
flowing at required pressure and supply line has been established.
