APPLICATION Individual performance evolutions (IPE) are used to document skill level performance. OPERATIONAL POLICY This section intentionally left blank. PROCESS Instructions to the Operator: The operator is to use standard operating procedures to place an elevated master stream into service. Equipment and Personnel Requirements: Operator wearing helmet and gloves. One (1) Fresno Fire Department (FFD) Quint apparatus. Evaluation: A recommendation for improvement is indicated by a checkmark in a box with standard text (non-bold font). Task Steps 1st Attemp t 2nd Attemp t 1. Prepare aerial for deployment. (Refer to IPE Section 313.041a) 2. Confirm “Water Tower” switch position secured. 3. Deploy aerial tip to desired location. (Refer to IPE Section 313.042a) 4. Secure a supply and engage the pump. (Refer to IPE Section 313.007a) 5. Ensure appropriate PPE worn by all personnel on the aerial. 6. Ensure all personnel working off, or staging on, the aerial is tethered to the aerial. 7. Ensure safety chain is always in place. 8. Confirm M/S nozzle valve is open (platform only). 9. Confirm M/S nozzle is set at a slight fog (not straight stream). 10 . Confirm the nozzle is pointed in a safe direction. 11 . Open the waterway valve slowly. 12 . Set the pump pressure. (Refer to Section 303.005, Pump Operator’s Guide) 13 . At a minimum observe the following: Rated load capacities/actual anticipated load. Loadminder. General appearance of stresses on the aerial/ waterway. 14 . Other: Note abnormal noises or concerns.
