PURPOSE
TruFuel is precision-engineered with proprietary lubricants and advanced stabilizers
to provide maximum protection to Fresno Fire Department’s (FFD or Department)
two-cycle engines. TruFuel also exhibits an increased shelf life, lasting up to five
years unopened and two years once opened.
APPLICATION
TruFuel is used by the Department for small motors including chainsaws, circular
saws, flotopumps, fans, auto extrication units, and all other small motors which
require both premixed and straight fuel. TruFuel is specially engineered for higher-
revving, hotter-running, two-cycle engines which require a gas/oil mixture. It also
offers an ethanol-free gasoline for small four-cycle engines which require separate
gas and oil.

INFORMATION
The Department uses the premixed 50:1 in all the 2-stroke motors, with the
exception of the flotopumps. Red TruFuel cans (See Figure 1) indicate a premixed
fuel at 50:1.
Figure 1 Figure. 2
Flotopumps will continue to be mixed at 24:1 using 4-stroke TruFuel (See Figure 2)
and 2-stroke oil.
Supply currently purchases TruFuel in five (5) gallon containers. Fire Companies
may restock TruFuel on apparatus in the following two (2) approved methods:
1. Members may reuse and refill an empty one (1) quart TruFuel
container.
2. The fuel may be transferred to a one (1) gallon, California Air
Resources Board approved portable fuel container. Company
Officers may contact Supply through normal channels to obtain a one
(1) gallon fuel approved safety container
