OPERATIONAL GUIDELINE
1. General Safety Rules:
The operator and others in the work area must wear safety
glasses and ear protection.
PROCESS
1. Cold Start:
a. Slide the stop switch (red) to the left.
b. Pull the choke lever (blue) out. (See Figure 2.)
c. Hold the throttle control level in; press the starter throttle catch
(white) in. Release the throttle control and the throttle is
locked in half-throttle position. The catch is released when the
throttle control is pressed in all the way. (See Figure 3.)

d. Press in the decompression valve to reduce the pressure in
the cylinder for an easier start. The decompression valve
should always be used when starting. The valve will
automatically return to its original position. (See Figure 4.)
2. Warm Start:
a. Use the same procedure as for cold start, but without choke
lever. (See Figure 5.)
3. Wet Cutting:
a. Attach water hose to water hose quick connection (white).
(See Figure 6.)

b. Use water adjustment valve (yellow) until adequate flow is
achieved. (See Figure 6.)
Note: The diamond blade must always be run with water in
order to keep the blade cool. Dry cutting causes
immediate overheating. The flow of water also
pushes particles away from the blade and cutter.
(See Figure 7.)
Figure 7
4. Start:
a. Hold the front handle with the left hand and place the right foot
on the lower section of the rear handle.
b. Grip the starter with the right hand and slowly pull the starter
cord until resistance is felt then pull quickly.
c. As the engine starts, quickly apply full throttle and the starter
throttle catch will automatically disengage.

b. Turn tensioning screw (white) so the nut (red) is located
directly under the arrow on the cover. The belt now
automatically has the right tension. (See Figure 11.)
c. Tighten the bolts, which hold the cutting head. (See Figure
12.)
7. Changing the Cutting Blade:
a. The blade is placed between the flange hub on the back side
and the flange washer on the front side (white arrow). (See
Figure 13.)

b. Lock the shaft using a screwdriver or steel pin. Slide in the
hole as far as possible and turn the blade slowly. The pin
drops in and locks the shaft. (See Figure 14.)
c. While holding the shaft locking pin, turn the washer bolt
counter-clockwise to loosen. Remove the washer and bolt.
Replace the blade. (See Figure 15.)
d. Assembly takes place in the reverse order.
8. Changing the Drive Belt:
a. Loosen the two bolts (white). (See Figure 16.)

released. (See Figure 16.)
c. Remove the front belt cover.
d. Remove the belt from the pulley. (See Figure 17.)

c. Ensure all the nuts and bolts are tight and nothing appears
damaged.
d. Check the pull cord condition.
e. Check overall cleanliness.
10. Weekly Maintenance:
