APPLICATION This policy applies to all members while operating the Electro-Hydraulic rebar cutter either for maintenance, training, or during emergency operations. PROCESS Operating the Electro-hydraulic Rebar Cutter Section 306.020 Page 1 of 3 1. Adjust the spacing bolt so the piece of rebar to be cut sets flush at a 90-degree angle to the shear blades. 2. Set the steel bar on the bar holder between the blades, making sure the bar sets fully between the blades. Do not attempt to cut the bar partially as this will cause damage to the blades. 3. Place the protective shield over the cutting blades. Spacing Bolt Section 306.020 Page 2 of 3 4. Pull the trigger to cut through the rebar. Keep the trigger pulled until the center rod has finished its stroke. It will automatically move back to the starting position. *The cutting room will not move back to the starting position if the cutting stroke was not finished.
