Badertscher, Management Analyst II Section 106.138 Page 1 of 5 PURPOSE The purpose of Administrative Manual, Section 106.138, Fire Station Inspection, form FD- 70C is to provide a checklist of items to be inspected during the annual fire station inspection for the Fresno Fire Department (FFD or Department). APPLICATION Form FD-70C is completed by the battalion chief responsible for the station inspection. OPERATIONAL POLICY All fire stations will be inspected annually during the month of September. OPERATIONAL GUIDELINE Battalion chiefs are assigned station inspections according to Standard Operating Procedures, Section 206.014, Fire Station Inspection Assignments. PROCESS • Place an 'X' in the box of each item that meets expectations and an asterisk next to the items that need attention. • Comments should be used to identify areas that are well-maintained and those items that need to be improved. • An inspection summary is to be completed and submitted to the operations chief electronically. The summary should identify the overall condition of the station, deficiencies noted, and a plan to remedy problem areas. Section 106.138 Page 2 of 5 • Required repairs and/or supplies should be requisitioned by the company officer through normal channels. • Completed electronic inspection sheets are kept on file at battalion chief offices for at least one (1) year for comparison purposes.
