Rogers-Rodriguez, Management Analyst II ADA PURPOSE The purpose of this policy is to clarify the requirements to issue a fire clearance for residential group R3.1 occupancies. APPLICATION This policy applies to buildings and occupancies that meet the requirements set forth in this policy. OPERATIONAL POLICY This section intentionally left blank. OPERATIONAL GUIDELINE Residential group R3.1 occupancies may include facilities licensed by a governmental agency. Such occupancies provide accommodations for six (6) or fewer clients of any age. These clients may be classified as ambulatory, non-ambulatory or bedridden. (See exception in occupancy definitions of the California Building Code (CBC) and California Fire Code (CFC) which exempts the R3.1’s specified above from Appendix Chapter 4, Section 425 requirements.) PROCESS Once an original form 850 is received by the Fresno Fire Department (FFD or Department) Prevention Division from Community Care Licensing or California Department of Social Services, the form will be assigned an inspector.
