Communications Center
Access to the Communications Center by uniformed on-duty members for routine
business may be obtained at the front door of the Emergency Communications Center
located at 555 N. Halifax, in Clovis. Notify the on-duty Communications supervisor
who you are and why you are there. Off-duty Department members may gain access
in the same way; however, they should make prior arrangements if not involved in
official business. Arrangements can be made by contacting a Communications
supervisor at (559) 621-4357 (Dispatch).
All Department members should restrict contact with the dispatchers at the
Communications Center. However, routine call information requests or information
requested by the Communications Center may be exchanged directly. Any questions
regarding errors, delays in dispatch, or requests for audio tapes of incidents should
go through the Department’s communications liaison.
When any member of the Department desires to make comments, suggestions,
criticism, or praise of any policy or procedure concerning Communications or its
personnel, e-mail detailing all the facts should be forwarded through the Department’s
communications liaison to the communications supervisor.
