HomeMy WebLinkAbout211.005 - Hose Practices - PSTrax Fresno City Fire Department 200 Standard Operating Procedures Manual SECTION 211.005 HOSE PRACTICES -PSTRAX PURPOSE To provide the Fresno Fire Department (FFD or Department) members with information on how to document hose testing and hose enteries into PSTrax. APPLICATION Members should utilize this process to document their annual hose inspections. OPERATIONAL POLICY Hose is to be tested per Training and Equipment Manual, Section 301.010, Annual Service Test for Fire Hose. OPERATIONAL GUIDELINE All hose will be entered into PSTrax after the annual hose testing is completed or when any changes to hose assignments are made. PROCESS From the PSTrax home screen: 1. Start by clicking the asset tab along the left side of the page. 2. Click Assets List. There are two (2) ways to enter hose inspections to PSTrax. Option 1 shows how to search an apparatus through a filter and view all the hose assigned to it. From this location hose tests can be entered individually or in a batch. Note: All search filters need to be reset when starting a new search. When using the “New Search” tab to filter all the fields need to be reset to “all” when Effective Date: January 2023 William J. Having a filter in place will restrict the data you are searching. Figure 1 Start from the home page and click Assets and click Asset List, then follow along with the numbers on the diagram. 1. Click the “New Search” tab at the top right. 2. Select “Hose” into the asset type. a. The status box remains “All Statuses”. 3. Select “Apparatus” under the assignment header. 4. Select the correct apparatus in the drop down. You can scroll or type the apparatus. 5. Click the green SEARCH button. Option 2 allows you to log a hose test in a batch. Important to note that all the hose being entered in a batch must have passed the hose test. To fail a hose test or log a hose test individually, follow the directions of page 4 of this policy. 1. Select the hose you want to log by selecting the check box as circled below. 2. Click the Batch tab and a new screen opens. Effective Date: January 2023 William J. Pass the hose test by clicking the green check mark. 4. Save by clicking Log Event. 5. The inspection has now been logged. Figure 2 As an alternative hose testing can be logged, assigned, reassigned, or searched individually by following the directions below. Important to note that all search filters need to be reset when starting a new search. To clear the filters, start by clicking on the new search tab as done above and change all the selections to “All” . 1. Start by clicking the Assets tab 2. From this screen hose can be logged as passed or failed. If the hose log is failed an alert screen will populate and an alert should be created. 1. To Pass the inspection click the green check mark or 2. Fail the inspection by clicking red triangle. 3. Save the inspection by clicking the “log event” button. 4. The inspection has now been logged.
