A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF FRESNO AUTHORIZING
THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO
SlGN AGREEMENTS FOR WASTEWATER
FOR IRRIGATION
WHEREAS, the Wastewater Treatment and Disposal Facn~ties
investigation prepared by Cornell .. Howland .. Hayes & Merryfield -
Clair A. Hill and Associab,w, EnglneorB recommend the wastewater·
disposal be operated in such a manner as to provide the maximum
amount of dIrect irrigation, and
WHEREAS, the County of Fresno .. Public Health Department
Sanitarian ha$ Issued on February 26J 1973, "Guidelines for
Safe Irrigation with Treated Sewage Effluent .. " excerpted from Title
17 of the Califomia Administrative, Code, and
WHEREAS, there are several land owners desirous of receiving
wastewater ft'Om the City of Fresno Wastewater Treatment Facilities
#
for irrigation purposes, and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney has prepared agreements including
the following terms:
1. Indemnification and hold harmless for the City
against ,my and all cl.:dms arising from use of our treated
wastewater.

A three year term, rel)ewable for successive
fhree-YE~ar periods.
~3. Confol~m to the California Administrative Code Title 17.
NOW, THEREFORE, it is resolved by the Council of the CIly ofr,'~resno
that the Public Works Dir'ector of the City of Fresno is authorized to enter
into and execute for and on behalf of the Cily, agreements for wastewater
irrigation of lands adjacElnt to and near the City's Wastewater Treatment
Facilities.
