HHEREAS, the city of Fresno entered into a contract '-lith
Robert stevens-Gene Zellmer F_ssociates (Archi teet) as of the 9th
day of August, 1973, for the provision of professional architectural
--
services for the enclosure of I and improvements -to, ·the Selland' .. :;
l-!.renai and
WHEREAS} approval of Part Three of the vJOrk of the Architect,
by the affirmative votes of a majority of the members of the
council present, at a duly convened public meeting, is required
before the Architect is entitled to payment or is authori~ed to
perform any other part of the v70rk i and
~'7HEREAS I the Council has considered the detailed plans and
specifications and other contract documents prepared by the Architect
as part of Part Three, the construction document phase; and .
WHEREAS, the Architect has submitted a final estirn.ate of
construction cost for approval by the mmer in such form as is
required by the Architect's Contract for Selland Arena ImprovementSj
and
WHEREAS} the Ci ty of Fre!:mo has entered into a Joint Exercise
of PmoJers Agreement ~eb7eenthe city of Fresno and the Couhty of
Fresno Creating Fresno Convention Center Improvement Authority,
dated for convenience as of February I, 1974; and
WHERBAS I the City has agreed pursnan-t to such joint exercise
of powers agreement to act as agent of the Fresno Conven-tion Center
Improvement Authority and on its behalf, and a-t its expense, to
obtain cmnpeti tivH hids for: the const¥uctioI~ of the Selland Arena
EnGlOS1]J~e and other improvements; /.

Part Three of the Architect' 5 CO:"l tract for Selland Arena .

BE IT FURTHER RESOL'lED that the final estimate of construction
costs dated February II, 1974/ is hereby approved; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Controller of the city of
Presno is authorized to make further payment to the Architect in
the amount of $30,195.80 as provided in the Architect's Contract
for Selland Arena Improvements; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Purchasing Agent of the City
is authorized and directed to solicit and receive public bids for
the construction of the Selland Arena enclosure and other improve-
meni:s as more particularly set forth in the Notice Inviting Bids
contained in the construction documents approved as part of the
approval of Part Three of the \oJork of the Architect.
