AND DESIGNA'l'ED Shields Barton No.1
AND GIVING NOTICE OF TIl·IE AND PLACE FOR
HEARING PROTESTS
'fUE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRESNO J CALIFORNIA I DOES RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Pursuant to the provisions of the Annexat~on of
Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, the Council hereby initiates,
on its own motipn, proceedings to annex the hereinafter-described
uninhabited territory to the City of Fresno.
SECTION 2. Tha Local Agency Formation Commission of Fresno
county has heretofore approved the appl;ication for the proposed
annexation ~erein initiated, and the proceedings therefor are
initiated, and shall be conducted and completed, in accordance
with the determinations of said Commission in its resolution of
approval.
SECTION 3. Notice is given that April 18 I 19 74 _,
at 9:15 ~M., in the Council Chamber, City Hall, 2326 Fresno
street, Fresno, California, is hereby fixed as the time and place
when and where the Council will hear written protests against the
annexation made by any person owning real property within said
hereinafter-described territory.
SECTION 4. The Council's reasons for desiring the annexation
are to facilitate the orderly and planned growth of the city and
to make available to said territory municipal services for
developments therein.
SECTION 5. The uninhabited territory herein proposed to be
annexed is designated Shields-Barton No. 1 annexation
and consists of that real .property situated in the County of

Fresno, State of California, the boundaries of which are specifi-
. cally described in E.xhibit "A", attached hereto and hereby made a
if fully set forth

consisting of Lots 23, 24, 52, 53, 54 and 55 of CEDAR HEIGHTSj
and The West one half of Lot 67 of SCANDINAVIAN COLO~N.
BEGINNING on the North line of JJot 68 of SCANDINAVIAN COLONY.
according.to the agreement on said north line, recorded in Book
119 at page 161 of covenants, Fresno county Records, at the
intersection with the Northerly production of the west line of
Lot 23 of CEDAR HEIGHTS, as said Lot is shown on the map of
CEDAR HEIGHTS, filed in the Office of the county Recorder, October
I, 1952 and recorded in Volume 16 of Plats at page 2, Fresno
County Records, being also, a point on the existing City Limits
of the city of Fresno; thence southerly, along the Northerly pro-
duction of the west line of said Lot 23, and along the West lines
of Lots 23, 24 and 52, of said CEDAR HEIGHTS, to the southwest
corner of said Lot 52; thence Wester1YJ along the North lines of
Lots 54 and 55, of said CEDAR HEIGHTS, to the northwest corner of
said Lot 55; thence southerly, along the West line of said Lot 55,
and along the southerly production of the West line of said Lot
55, to the intersection with the South line of Section 24, Township
13 south, Range 20 East, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian as said
section is shown on the United States Township Plats; thence
Easterly, along the South line of said Section 24, to the intersection
with the southerly production of the East line of the West Half of
Lot 67 of SCANDINAVIAN COLOWI as said Lot is shown on the Map of
SCANDINAVIAN COLONY, filed in the Office of the County Recorder
November 21, 1898 and recorded in Volume 2 of Plats at page 3,
Fresno county Records; thence Northerly, along the southerly pro-
duction of the East line of the West Half of said Lot 67, and
along the East line of the West Half of said Lot 67, to the inter-
section with the South line of Lot 70 of said SCANDINAVIAN COLONY
according to the agreement on said South line, recorded in Book 119
at page 161 of covenants, Fresno County Records, .being ~lso, a
point on the existing city Limits of said city; thence Westerly,
along the South line of said Lot 70, and along the North line of
said Lot 68, according to said agreement, being also, along the
existing city Limits of said City, to the point of Beginning.
