establishes a procedure for the creation of undorground uti~ity districts
and requires as the intital step in such procedure the holding of a
public hearing to ascertain whether public neces.!3ity, health, safety,
or welfare requires the removal of poles, overhead wires and associated
overhead structures and the underground installa tion of If,ires and
facilities for oupplying electric, communication, or similar or
associated service in any such district; and

NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the council of the city of Fresno
as fol10\,IS;
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing wi~l be ,held by
the council of the city of Fresno on March 15, 1973, at the hour of 9:45
a.m. in the council Chambers of the city Hall} 2326 Fresno Street,
Froano, California, to ascertain whether the public necessity/health,
safety, or welfare requires tho .romoval of poles, overhead wires and
associated overhead structures and the underground installation of
wires and facilities for supplying electric, communication, or similar
associated service in the District hereinabove described.
2. At such hearing all persons interested shall be given an opportunity
to be heard. said hearing may be continued from time to time as may
be determined by the council.

upon that certain map entitled underground utility District PRE 18,
dated November 30, 1972, which is on file at the information desk,
Department of Public Works of the city.
