RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF FRESNO RELATING TO THE STRONG-MOTION
INSTRUMENTATION PROGRAM OF 'l'HE STA'l'E OF
CALIFORNIA
WHEREAS/effective March 4, 1972, the State of California
enacted a Strong-Motion Instrumentation Program pursuant to the
provisions of Chapter 8 (commencing with Section 2700) of
Divisi6n 2 of the Public ~esources Code; and,
WHEREAS, Section 2705 of the Public Resources Code provides
that all counties and cities shall collect a fee from all applicants
.£01.' construction permits which· shall be equal to .007 percent of
the estimated construction cost of the Btructure; and,
NHEREAS, Section 2701 of the Public Resources Code provides
that the Division of Mines and Geology of: tho Depart.mont of Consor ...
vation shall organize and monitor the program;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Fresno resolves
as follows:
Effective March 4, 1972, the City Planning and Inspection
Department shall collect the fees and the City Finance Department
shall remit the collected fees pursuant to the provisions of
Chapter 8 of Division. 2 of the Public Resources Code and rules and
regUlations of the Division of Mines and Geology.of the Department
of Conservation.
