SECTION 106.050b UNIT 10 CERTIFICATION TRACKING FORM
PURPOSE
This document outlines the process to receive Educational Incentive Pay and Bilingual
pay.
APPLICATION
The Certification Tracking Form is designed to assist the FFD member in collecting all
required documentation and completing the process to receive Educational Incentive
Pay and Bilingual pay.
OPERATIONAL POLICY
Completion of all steps of the process outlined in this policy will be required for a
member to receive Educational Incentive Pay and Bilingual pay. This process has
been developed to ensure all members eligible for the above listed pays understand
the process to receive compensation.
This policy applies to all members except for when members are hired into the Trainee
Academy.

PROCESS
Education Incentive Pay
1. Complete your Chief Fire Officer or Executive Fire Officer.
2. Record a self-assignment in LMS.
a. Upload your certificate.

b. Enter the date of completion.
c. Enter your date of hire.
3. Send a completed and signed copy of the FD-51 to the Training Division.
4. Training Division
a. Will verify the completion of all requirements for receival of Education
Incentive Pay.
b. Will verify all documentation has been uploaded to LMS.
c. Will send FD-51 to payroll. l
5. Fire Payroll
a. Will verify and complete payment requirements.
b. Will email a signed copy of FD-51 to member verifying the completion of
process and that employee will be receiving payment on the next eligible
paycheck.
Bilingual Pay
1. Obtain the City of Fresno Bilingual Examination Application.
2. Complete the Application and submit it to your supervisor for signature.
3. Forward completed application to Fire Payroll.
4. Fire Payroll will submit application to the City’s Personnel Division and your
exam appointment will be scheduled.
5. After successful completion of the exam, Fire Payroll will be notified and will
initiate the new compensation.
