SECTION 204.002g DISPATCH OF FRESNO COUNTY
FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT STATIONS
PURPOSE
The purpose of this document is to familiarize members of the Fresno Fire Department
(FFD or Department) with the procedures established for the station alerting and
subsequent direct dispatching of Fresno County Fire Protection District (District)
resources by the Fresno County EMS Communications Center (Communications
Center).
APPLICATION
This procedure is intended for all members as well as Communications Center
personnel that are involved in the dispatch of emergency resources.

This section intentionally left blank.
OPERATIONAL GUIDELINE
The Communications Center’s Zetron console should be used to alert the District fire
station of incidents identified as automatic aid for the City of Fresno.
Communications Center personnel should simultaneously initiate the CAD to CAD
interface request to the Emergency Command Center (ECC).
PROCESS
Upon receipt of an incident determined to meet auto aid criteria:
1. Verify the correct resource was recommended.
2. Utilize the Zetron console to alert the desired station.
3. Initiate the CAD to CAD interface with the ECC.

4. Immediately after the broadcast, notify the ECC by intercom or landline.
5. Ensure that the dispatched resource has acknowledged the request and is
responding.
INFORMATION
Fire Station 85 and Fire Station 87 have direct dispatch capabilities. The FFD All Call
capability is also installed at both stations.

Tones are 2121 Hz and 1306 Hz
Fast reach format .25 seconds per ton
Station 85
Reach Code: 185
Tones are 2121 Hz and 1400 Hz
Fast reach format .25 seconds per ton
DEFINITIONS
1. Emergency Command Center (ECC): The command and control point for all
local Cal Fire and the Fresno County Fire Protection District incidents requiring
a fire/rescue response. The center also provides service to an additional
thirteen emergency agencies and is the Region V Coordination Center for the
California Emergency Management Agency.
2. Zetron Console: Console used by the radio operator at the Communications
Center to dispatch fire resources.
3. CAD to CAD Interface: The function of sharing call information with other
agencies via Computer Aided Design software.
