Garcia, Engineer Review Level: 3 Administrative Support: Crystal Giannopulos, Senior Administrative Clerk ADA Section 310.302 Page 1 of 6 PURPOSE This policy outlines the use and operation of the AL-11 Primary Operator Aerial Control Station found on some Fresno Fire Department (FFD) apparatus. APPLICATION The AL-11 control interface allows operation and monitoring of the ladder through the electronic display and corresponding buttons. INFORMATION Section 310.302 Page 2 of 6 Aerial Control Display Screen 1. Water Tower: The dual positional waterway feature that allows the monitor to be positioned at the tip of the fly section (Water Tower). 2. Rescue Mode: Enables the pinable waterway to be positioned at the next lower section (Rescue Mode). 3. Retract Enable: Momentary button, when retracting, the ladder structure will stop once the steps of the fly section near the overlap of the next lower section. 4. EPU: Activates the auxiliary hydraulic pump. Refer to EPU section for further. 5. Night Mode: Allows the operator to change between Day/Night modes. 6. Programming Button: To be used by shop personnel only. 7. High Idle: Activates the High Idle of the engine. 8. Creeper Enable: Momentary button allows the turntable operator to activate the creeper controls on the tip of the fly section. Section 310.302 Page 3 of 6 9. Aerial Monitor: Allows operator to navigate to the monitor Display Screen. 10. Engine Cluster: Allows the operator to navigate to the Engine Display Screen. 11. Lighting Menu: Allows the operator to navigate to the Light Display Screen. 12. Home Button: Brings you back to the Aerial Control Display Screen. 13. Ladder Angle: The angle of the ladder structure. 14. Rotational Position: The rotational position of the ladder structure, during short set procedure the blocked zones will be indicated in red on this gauge. 15. Extension Travel: The percentage of total extension. 16. Ladder Load: Load limit indicator, if the load on the ladder reads 90%, a red indicator will flash, and an alarm will sound. 17. System Pressure: Displays the operational pressure of the aerial hydraulic system. 18. Bed Zone: Illuminates when the ladder structure is in the Bed Zone. 19. Rung Align: Illuminates when the ladder section rungs are in alignment for climbing the ladder structure. Section 310.302 Page 4 of 6 Engine Cluster Display 1. Water Temperature Gauge: Displays engine water temperature. 2. Oil Pressure Gauge: Displays engine oil pressure. 3. Transmission Temperature Gauge: Displays transmission temperature. 4. Fuel Gauge: Displays fuel level. 5. Voltage Meter: Displays battery voltage. 6. RPM Gauge: Displays engine RPM. 7. Engine Warnings Stop Engine Light: Requires an immediate engine stop. 8. Check Engine Light: Engine warning light. 9. Regeneration Light: Regeneration is active. 10. High Exhaust Light: Indicates high exhaust temperature. Section 310.302 Page 5 of 6 11. Aerial Control: Allows the operator to navigate to the aerial display screen. Aerial Monitor Display 1. Monitor up: Moves the monitor up. 2. Monitor down: Moves the monitor down. 3. Monitor right: Moves the monitor right. 4. Monitor left: Moves the monitor left. 5. Park: Parks the monitor. While parking, the red square will flash and when fully “parked”, the red square will stop flashing. 6. Stream: Moves to a straight stream. 7. Fog: Moves to a fog stream. Section 310.302 Page 6 of 6 Lighting Menu Display 1. Panel Lights: Activates the panel lights under the turntable control console. 2. Tip Lights 12v: Activates the lights at the tip of the ladder. 3. Tip Lights 110v: Activates the lights attached to the pin-able waterway. 4. Track Lights: Activates the tracking lights. 5. Ladder Lights: Activates the rung lighting.
